Butterfly love 王菲 《蝴蝶》

那天在一间售卖水晶饰品的店闲逛，看中一枚戒指，上面镶着一只蝴蝶。售货员告诉我，在风水的角度，蝴蝶代表人缘。难怪我不知为什么，对蝴蝶情有独钟，看来是我跟他的缘分吧。就像有些人独爱小狗小猫，都是一种与生俱来的缘分和倾向。
原本是想要找王菲在西安法门寺开幕典礼所演唱的佛曲，无意间发现这首《蝴蝶》。自制的MTV有好多形形色色的蝴蝶，与花争鸣，看得让人喜悦。昨晚在电视上也观看了魏如昀的《蝶恋》MTV，很有意思的一首歌，MTV拍得很另类，有创意。

Heard this song when I surfed Shin's Cancer Blog. It was sang during her memorial wake. Very touching when the Breast Cancer Foundation members sang..... Found a pillar of strength when listening to this song....

Faith is so important, be it during ups or down...

COMPASS Award Presentation '09

Was invited to the COMPASS Award Presentation at Raffles City Convention Centre last nite and took some photos of the local celebs who won the awards.

 
Kit Chan - "Artistic Excellence Award" (Both Zhiyang and I were attracted by her X-factor and charm, she looks prettier in person)
 
JJ Lin - "Top Local Songwriter of the Year, Top Local Soundtrack, Top Local Chinese Pop Singer" (No wonder he's a hit locally and overseas... his boy-next-door image and talents are really USP of his singing career... All the way, JJ!)
 
Dick Lee - "Wings of Excellence Award"
 
Li Weisong - Top Local Chinese Song for "我怀念的" (i.e. he collected the most royalty fees for this song)
 
Xiaohan- Young Songwriter of the Year (this category is for songwriter aged 35 and below, she's just made it!)

It was my first time attending this event, and find that it's a music gathering for all music-lovers.... hope that friends who aspire to become lyricists and composers will hold on to their dreams and see ya at COMPASS award soon.....

当佛教遇上娱乐……

原来佛乐也可以很流行，几天前收到朋友的电邮，推荐我听这首配合2009年香港佛诞庆典而演唱的主题曲《佛诞吉祥》。
编曲有点像圣诞节歌曲的feel，听后有种喜悦和温馨的感觉。
就如曾志伟所说的，艺人的人生比起普通人有更多的起起伏伏，因此佛教所倡导的“人生无常”，能令有缘人开悟，莫执着。

在佛光山卫塞节庆祝会上拍下这些有关“十供”的图片，从精简的介绍认识“十供”的意义。








为了庆祝卫塞节，位于金文泰的新加坡佛教青年弘法团（简称“佛青团”）为儿童佛学班的学生举行了“三步一拜”、“拜愿”、“传灯”和“浴佛”四大仪式。我有幸担任佛学班的义工老师，一同和学生学习仪式的规矩和意义。简单来说，“三步一拜”是为了祛除心灵的“贪嗔痴”，“拜愿”仪式是为了忏悔往昔所造的恶业，“传灯”是将佛陀所教导的慈悲与智慧之光传承下去，“浴佛”是洗净我们的身、口、意。通过这次教学相长的经验，让我获益不浅，更加深了我的佛缘！阿弥陀佛！

卫塞节 Vesak Day Floral Fiesta

卫塞节庆祝佛陀诞生、成道与涅磐，是佛教徒重要的一天。
早上9点去接两位姑姑一同去佛光山参加浴佛仪式和参观押花展，度过一个充实的一天。

好友宝莲和她的护花使者也前来浴佛；美如auntie 和 Uncle simon 一起帮忙Sally售卖环保用品。

从台湾佛光缘美术馆带来的押花展，实在太美了，真的是‘眼花缭乱’！全由一位台湾艺术家萧珊珊一手完成，不知花了多少时间、眼力、耐心才完成。

DIY Planting is fun!

A continuation from my 'Happy May Day' blog after 10 days...My "If There're Seasons..." seedlings have grown into a little plant.

种植过程，让我想起摘自星云大师《佛教的生命学》人间佛教小丛书的一段语录：

“生命不是单独存在的，必须要有许多的因缘才能存在。生命是彼此相互关联的，一粒种子如果把它放在桌子上、地板上，它不会成长；它要有土壤、水分、阳光、空气的因缘，才能开花结果。。。所以，生命的意义，它须要前面加持的因缘，让我们继续生长……”

生命真是神奇！要惜缘！

Happy May Day!

It's Labour's Day today!

Ironically, I spent a relaxing day at IMM shopping and lunching with zhiyang today, cos I still have to work on this Saturday (Argh!)

Had a fulfilling lunch at Ichiban Sushi. I must say that its standard is much better than the same category Jap restaurants. Wide variety of sushi (I love its Golden Catch, Dory Sushi - a must-try!) and set meals with freshness and good service! I will definitely go back for more...

Went to Daiso to get soil & pot to plant my “天冷就回来”seedlings.. to our dismay, it had stopped selling soil...We went to buy at Giant instead and I also bought a mini plant there to be placed in my office for more oxygen!

Now it's waiting time to see if the seedlings grow....stay tuned! hehe...
